April 21, 2025 at 3:39 amHi everyone!
I am truly mentally exhausted. I have applied to so many law firms, but none of them have reverted back since I don’t have enough work experience.
For context- I graduated in 2024 from a good law school, secured a 8.79 CGPA, was also a merit scholar for many semesters and have a great CV to back it up. Straight after law school, I joined a big pharma company for 3 months [but left right after because of the deplorable working conditions and treatment]. My plans on pursuing a Master’s in UK in September 2026 also came to a screeching halt, despite getting admitted into Kings, LSE, Qmul, UCL and others because I don’t have the finances for it and would have to take out a loan. I have been working as a junior in a litigation firm but it is not my interest, and never has been.
Since my bar enrollemnt,I have been actively applying to firms since the past month, but to no avail. What else can I do? Is it myself fault for having no connections? I have seen people I know, who barely passed their exams become associates in SAM and Luthra because they have relatives/family members there. I just want one door to open for me and give me a chance to show that I can do the job well. I’m smart, capable and am ready to give my best. It’s hard to swallow the fact that none of those matter because I don’t know anyone. Please let me know how I can get into a good tier firm for an associate role. I’m so desperate to hear something back, I might just start cold messaging partners with my CVs. Please help. -

April 21, 2025 at 3:47 amJust like any other industry this also works on referencing. A reference might help you to atleast give an interview. Try Legalbots. It’s a job portal kind of thing, maybe you can find something there. -
