April 20, 2025 at 6:08 pmTL;DR: In end of Jan 2025, made an addmission to a weekend M.Tech course(₹5L) from a reputed university in Chennai. Paid ₹50K as admission fee. Decided to withdraw & notified the university, no valid response. Need advice on next step(s) to get refund.

Hi All,1. In Jan 2025, I enrolled in an M.Tech program offered by a reputed private university in Chennai, in collaboration with a third-party admission partner. The program was advertised as flexible—classes only on alternate weekends—and the total fee was ₹5 lakhs. It seemed like a good fit at the time.
2. I paid an initial admission fee of ₹30,000 the very next day, followed by a second payment two months later. As per the admission letter, the course commencement date was mentioned as April 2025.
3. However, after further discussions with friends and peers, I started to feel that the fee was too high for what was being offered. Additionally, I was later informed that the actual classes would only begin in June 2025, which added to my concerns.
4. By April 5, I was expected to pay the first installment of ₹75,000. Before one day(On April 4) I decided not to go ahead and formally informed the university via email, phone call, and support ticket that I wished to withdraw. All responses redirected me to the admission partner, stating they handle all admission-related matters. I conveyed the same to them via phone call, email, and support in their portal.
5. It’s been over two weeks since I started following up with the admission partner, but I haven’t received any proper response or resolution.
Would appreciate guidance on Whether I have any legal grounds to request a refund.
If yes what’s the best course of action. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP!Thank-you alot for taking your golden time to read these long post ☺️
