SRespected Lawyers.
I am a first year B.Tech student at NIT and I come from a very poor financial background. I took admission in NIT solely because they grants fee remissions to the needy and banks also provides education loan. I can’t afford Private institutions and would have stopped studying if I had not gotten this seat in NIT.A little info about my background
-I belong to Uttar Pradesh but staying in Gujarat for the last 12 years and my father is working in Gujarat from the last 20 years. But all our legal documents have address of uttar pradesh only.Now the problem is my father joined this XYZ steel company way back when they hired people purely on experience Quota. In 2015, His company offered such people to show them their 10th or 12th marksheet to get promotions.
My father went back to his local school in UP and got his 10th class marksheet however the issue is the marksheet had different middle name and sirname than his official name of that time.
For eg. His name before 2015 was ” Shashi Kant Rai”
And in marksheet was “Shashi Chandra kalar” Now both Rai and kalar are same castes and rai is somewhat modern adaptations of Kalar.In the greed of promotion, what my father did was absolute blunder, he changed his name to “Shashi Chandra kalar” to all his official documents as one time amendments is granted in Adhar cards and all.
Only My school principal didnot allowed him to change his name in my school register and ultimately his name on my credentials remained “Shashi Kant Rai” only.
People told us there won’t be any issue.But now since I have joined college, bank rejected my Plea for educational loan. They asked for Gazette Publication asking my father to change his name back.
We applied for gazette with the help of an advocate from the ” Govt press and stationary Rajkot” in September but now it’s may and there is no sign of it. We don’t know what is its status. The advocate is not guaranting us anything.
We applied again in March with the help of another advocate with 2500 rs form (to get gazette within 3months) yet it has not been delivered to us till now and it is not available on site.
Both advocates are not giving us any concrete date.
All my family savings were spent on semester 1 and semester 2 fee. And now if gazette do not come up in a month or so. I won’t be able to pay fee of third semester and might drop out. Dropping out would be the end of my life.
Please help Everyone…what can I do to atleast track gazette or know why it’s not processed yet. Please, consider it as life saving situation…I have lost all my hope.TLDR: First year btech student, dependent on loan for college fee as poor family background. Bank rejected loan due to mistake in father’s name and asked for gazette. Gazette not published even after 8 months, reapplied in March and still not published. Need suggestions.
