A practicing Hindu couple registers their marriage under the Special Marriage Act and also have Hindu rituals as part of their wedding process.

Which law (Hindu Marriage Act or the Special Marriage Act or both) will the marriage be governed under? and Why? (Please give Legal references if possible)
