CHi, I’m a 20-year-old guy and I need some legal advice.
A while ago, my pictures, phone number, call recordings, and private chats were leaked and misused. Some of my photos were even morphed with nudity, and people twisted my words from private conversations. This led to blackmail, bullying, and emotional and mental harassment.
I never felt safe enough to stand up for myself, but now I’m in therapy and trying to heal. One thing my therapist said is that learning about the legal rights I have can help me regain a sense of control.
Because of what happened, I’ve developed a phobia around sharing my phone number or even chatting online. I’m scared of being misjudged just because I’m a guy and people assume I could harm someone, even when I’ve done nothing wrong.
If anyone here has gone through something similar or has legal knowledge, what laws protect someone like me from this kind of harassment and misuse of personal data? Any advice or resources would mean a lot.
