April 15, 2025 at 1:57 pmMy best friend is a muslim woman and is being harassed by her in-laws. She has to cook for her 2 parent in laws, her husband and a total of 7 siblings. Cook, clean, press clothes listen to their taunts and everything. She wants to know her options and how can she save her life without damaging it further? Can she get back her dowry of 50 lakhs? -

April 15, 2025 at 6:31 pmThere are some benifits of being a man. Like marrying atmost 4 wives. Just tell your friend that her husband should bring one more wife to home so that it is easier to feed the family.-

April 15, 2025 at 2:29 pmI think 498A can be applied irrespective of religion. Just that their divorce process is much different and heavily in male favour so forget settlement or getting your dowry amount back. Ask her to save her life first.-

April 15, 2025 at 3:53 pmIndian law supersedes Muslim personal Law. So if a person has gotten divorced or is not able to get divorce under Muslim personal law then he/she has full right to go to courts. Also as per Islam the law of the country in which u are living shall always supersede the muslim personal law or religious rulings in terms of divorce.

April 15, 2025 at 4:18 pmNot required, as it happened under muslim marriage law. They have their own registration process. Which should have been done.-

April 15, 2025 at 4:34 pmYes there is one Nikah Namah that needs to be signed during the marriage but still there is a need of registering ur marriage where is Nikah Namah is used as a proof of marriage.
If you donβt register ur marriage then it becomes quite difficult to get the name change done on government documents, passport etc.So is it mandatory, No itβs not. But is it needed, Yes it is.

April 15, 2025 at 5:07 pmNot sure if this is true.Technically as the marriage is done via muslim personal law. So that document should suffice. But don’t know what actually happens

April 15, 2025 at 5:13 pmI m a muslim. seen numerous marriages of my relatives. Also both of my sisters are married. They have to get their marriage registered.
Yes, Nikah Namah suffices as the proof of the marriage most of the time but in order to do any changes on documents such as husband name, Change in surname after marriage, Applying for spouse visa if u are living in another country etc. u do need marriage registration certificate along with Nikah Namah. -

April 15, 2025 at 2:38 pmI have a close friend who was in similar situation. She also went through daily abuse from her ex-husband. She went through religious clerics to get khula.Β Before that, she left and stayed with her own family. Her brother and family stood really strong with her. She did get everything back even when initially her ex-husband’s family didnt want to give back her jewellery and other personal things. She didnt want to go to court as according to her, that would have taken much longer. If your friend’s family is in support and are ready to fight, then it might be easier to get o
Everything back through a khulaΒ Β-
