I wanted to share a serious issue we’ve faced in our logistics operations, in hopes that it raises awareness and maybe brings in some helpful insights from others who’ve dealt with similar situations.

        Incident Timeline:

In mid-February 2025, we arranged for a vehicle to transport a full load of valuable goods across state lines. During transit, we were informed by the broker and vehicle owner that the driver was taken hostage by 3–4 unidentified individuals in Maharashtra. The goods were reportedly offloaded into another vehicle and disappeared.

An FIR was filed on 19th February 2025 at the local police station. After some time, three accused individuals were arrested in connection with the case.

Where It Stands Now (2 Months Later):

        * Despite arrests, not a single item has been recovered.
        * Police have taken no visible steps toward recovering the stolen goods.
        * One of the three arrested was released on bail recently.
        * The driver is reportedly out on bail too, and using the same vehicle for loading work again.
        * We’ve received police clearance to return the leftover material.
        * We’ve submitted an official request for an update to the local police station, and marked copies to senior authorities – still no significant progress.

        Major Concerns:

        * The process has been frustratingly slow, and honestly, feels corrupt at multiple levels. We’ve had to pay at nearly every step just to get basic things done.
        * We recently spoke with the last of the accused, who confessed that police officers were themselves involved in the robbery. This has made the situation even more alarming.
        * We’ve hired a local advocate, but even he isn’t optimistic — it’s been over two months, and he’s warned us that recovering the material at this point will be extremely difficult.
        * We’re left worried, disheartened, and unsure what more we can do. We’re trying to follow the legal path, but the delays and resistance are exhausting.

        Why I’m Posting This:

This post isn’t just to vent — though it helps — but to alert others in logistics and transport to be extremely cautious when selecting vehicles and drivers. Even with proper documentation and tracking, you may still be at the mercy of a system that often feels broken.

If anyone has faced a similar incident, or has advice on how to pursue this more effectively, legally or otherwise, please share your experience. Any guidance is welcome.

Stay alert, and take extra precautions.
