        Hello Everyone,

I’ve been trying to register my marriage using the online portal: https://igrsup.gov.in/igrsup/userMarriageRegistration. I’ve filled in most of the details, but I have a few doubts and would really appreciate your help:

        * [ Online Shapath Patr (शपथ पत्र)](https://igrsup.gov.in/prernadoc/marriage/MarriageAffidavitFormat.pdf) – The form mentions that the affidavit needs to be notarized. Since I live in Delhi but am registering my marriage in Bareilly (U.P.), do I need to get it notarized specifically from Bareilly, or can it be done elsewhere? I was thinking of getting it notarized in Noida/Greater Noida, as they are in U.P. and closer to me.

        * **Witness Appearance Requirement:** Do the witnesses need to appear in person before the Magistrate/at the Tehsil office? In other words, is their physical presence mandatory during the registration process?
        * **Marriage Completion Proof (विवाह संपन्न होने का साक्ष्य):** Is the wedding card sufficient for this requirement, or do I need to provide any other proof? I haven’t been issued any additional documentation by the venue or priest.
        * **Additional Information:** Are there any other important details or documents that I should be aware of or include while filling out the form?

Thanks in advance for your help and Guidance

          NAL-

          1. **Affidavit Notarization:**
You do not need to get the affidavit notarized specifically in Bareilly. The notarization can be done anywhere, as long as it follows the required legal procedure. Since you’re located in Noida/Greater Noida, you can get it notarized there without any issues, as both locations fall under Uttar Pradesh jurisdiction.

          2. **Witness Appearance Requirement:**
Yes, the witnesses are required to be physically present during the registration process. They need to appear either in front of the Magistrate or at the Tehsil office, depending on the process being followed in your case. Their physical presence is mandatory for the marriage registration to be completed.

          3. **Marriage Completion Proof (विवाह संपन्न होने का साक्ष्य):**
The wedding card can serve as proof of marriage, but in some cases, additional documents may be required, such as a certificate from the priest or a photo of the marriage ceremony. It’s best to confirm with the local authorities or the Tehsil office to ensure that the wedding card is sufficient in your case. If the card isn’t enough, the priest’s declaration or other supporting documents might be necessary.

          4. **Additional Information:**
          – Make sure that both you and your spouse have valid ID proofs and address proofs for the registration process.
          – If applicable, ensure that the photos of the marriage ceremony are ready to be submitted as they may be required in some cases.
          – Also, confirm the specific documents required by the Tehsil office or marriage registration authority beforehand to avoid delays.

For a smooth registration process, it’s a good idea to reach out to the local Tehsil office or the official marriage registration authority in Bareilly for any region-specific requirements or updates. This will ensure you’re fully prepared and that all the necessary documents are in place.

I got my marriage registered in Noida UP. I am a lawyer. Just go to registrar office and give them 4k they will do everything without witnesses needing to come physically. I got my marriage certificate within 4 hours on the same day. It’s not worth it to do by yourself theyll make you run around for documents/ signature from gazetted officer.
