I have a question about notice periods in India.When I joined my company, my appointment letter said there is a 1-month notice if I resign.
But now, the management sent an email last month saying the notice period is changed to 3 months for everyone.I am planning to resign now, and want to know:
1. Can they change the notice period just like that, by email?
2. If I didnβt agree to this change, is it still legal?
3. If I resign, will the 1-month rule in my appointment letter still work?
Please share your thoughts or any advice. Thanks!

April 14, 2025 at 12:40 pmUnilateral change of contract is not binding on you. Just say you don’t agree to the change since the appointment letter mentioned 1 month and resign.-

April 14, 2025 at 12:44 pmJust tell them you were discussing with your lawyer and now that disucssion has been completed you don’t agree.
