FHi everyone,
I’m looking for some guidance regarding property and inheritance. My father was married twice. He had a daughter from his first marriage, and a son (me) and a daughter from his second marriage.
During his lifetime, he both inherited and purchased multiple properties. He had given one house to his daughter from the first marriage. My sister (from the second marriage) is married and has clearly stated she doesn’t want any share in the property.
Both my sister and half-sister have signed affidavits confirming they have no claims on the remaining properties.
My question is — are these affidavits legally sufficient to prevent any future claims from them on the property? Is there anything else I should do to ensure this is legally airtight?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
