my mom is a single mother and my father passed away 16 years ago. there is a property of 900sq ft that we’ve been living on that was in the name of my paternal grandmother when he passed. 8 years ago, she wrote 60% of the property in my mother’s name and 40% in hers until she’s dead and my older brother’s after her death. now that we’re looking to reconstruct the house, we’re trying to get her to write another will so that we can build the whole property, not just the 60%. for context, my father has an older brother and there were two properties. the other one is completely in his name and he has long reconstructed it to comfortably move into it without any objections from my grandmother while she still won’t agree to write the will again or let us reconstruct our house. she gets furious at the mere mention of it. how do we deal with such a situation? i have 0 knowledge of law so please tell me like i’m a 5 year old, any way that i can help. i’m a minor and my brother is 20 years old.
