April 8, 2025 at 4:37 amLooking for suggestions /adviceA friend informed that she is getting CC statements and payment reminders from a CC company. She used that email for swiggy etc so she didn’t care. She ignored the initial emails and I can see that there were OTP emails and minor purchases. Like Rs 198.
As of now I see that the CC user has a debt of around 50K and the bank is sending multiple reminders. Like last Sunday 2 emails were received.
Also the CC limit is around 30K
What should be done now? Reach out to bank by email informing that this is an incorrect email. Check CIBIL if there are actually cards issued?
If cards have been issued fraudulently then what should be the next step?

April 8, 2025 at 5:23 amIt’s too late now.Remember, credit card debt/fraud is not to be taken lightly. Any wrong entry should be investigated and reported to the bank.
She should check her CIBIL. If there is some problem with CIBIL she should immediately block the card. Then she should ask for the statement from the bank. If the statement is in some other name & address, she should inform the bank.
Email/mobile number do get mixed up specially when so called bank agents are involved.
