On what factors do court decide whether to give monthly child support or one time settlement?

Can the one time settlement amount cross more than 30% of the husband’s wealth?

The court would decide the same depending on the facts and circumstances of each case and the facts pleaded by each party. The maintenance amount/alimony can sometimes briefly cross that mark where a child is involved.
