April 3, 2025 at 8:58 pmHi everyone,Iโm planning to send bulk emails to a group of university students. These email IDs were shared with me by a friend who is affiliated with the university. My goal is to advertise a product/service that I believe could be beneficial for them.
Before proceeding, I want to ensure that Iโm not violating any laws or ethical guidelines. Specifically:
1. Is it legal to send such emails without explicit consent from the recipients?
2. Are there any best practices or precautions I should follow to avoid potential issues (e.g., including an opt-out option)?
3. Has anyone had experience with similar outreach campaigns targeting students?Iโd really appreciate any insights, advice, or resources on how to approach this in a compliant and ethical way.

April 3, 2025 at 9:08 pmAs a student I receive these calls and mail’s pretty often and I just ignore them… So I doubt it’ll be a problem also if your product is whatever it is not interesting, Most students are just going to ignore it so there’s that. I don’t know if it’s legal or not but I doubt anyone is going to take any action against you. As even our college gives out our info like it’s nothing.
