PIm preparing for this exam and my dad made me a OBC certificate. I told him I dont want to use it but he forces me that I use it. My brother got into some medical college using a fake OBC certificate and he tells me the same to use it, he sucks btw. Im not planning to use that certificate cuz I dont want to. What do I do?

CYu are OBC non creamy layer then, your dad probably doesn’t declare all his income so maybe he comes under the quota

SDude just dont do it, One of my friend’s father did the same and he was found out in 3 rd year MBBS. Somehow using their influence he did not go to Jail but was debarred by the university for 5 years

UUse them, the system is rigged, I have seen talented students left out because of it. Fuck whatever other people think of this. The ones who have reservation, will use their reservation status and ones who don’t have will discourage you as they didn’t have the chance.

FI think you should go for it , because it will be your own benefit, and resisting to take benefit of OBC certification is also good, but it’s for your benefit.Redditors will praise you for not taking Obc reservation but that’s only sugar coating of their thoughts, it is constitutionally valid so use it.

I don’t think you need a legal advice for this but a personal advice.
Best is to have a word when he is in right mindset.
Or learn how to bring him into right mindset.
Or find someone from relatives/his friends who can help you in convincing him
Or just become a politician. That is, keep him convinced that you’ll do but don’t do.And honestly, these are just normal ways of dealing with people.
Legal advice should be the last resort, left only for extremest of the extreme situations, when you’ve failed in every diplomatic way. -

MRemind him about the Puja Khedkar case. She joined the UPSC using forged certificates. Later she got caught.

Sshe would never got caught unless she wouldn’t have got too cocky. she gamed the system for 5 times, even got appointed. it all happens she misbehaved with her senior, they tipped in the news. her legal case was in public domain which lead to expose her father’s income who run for election, then it was domino effect.

Snot trying to encourage fraud but unless someone is too sceptical/obsessed with anyone or planet allignment is too bad, no one ever ever look into the certificates, if you get things done.
during pooja case, my neighbour caught of fraud, her father spread the rumours that daughter became IFS, it was in news, even her school celebrated, it was 3 years ago, nobody sniffed into this stuff but during pooja case someone brought it up.

RA lot of states are cracking down on cheating in competitive exams etc., including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh. It’s become a big political issue and is reflected in a lot of bail judgements from the High Courts and Supreme Court these days. A lot of these bail applications are rejected, citing the need for fairness and the impact such unfair practices have on society. I’d say best not to risk it.

BFear of getting caught is not a factor here. This is India: if your dad can get you fake caste certificate, he can get you out of a mess if you get caught. The real issue is your personal integrity. It’s a 0/1 thing: either you have it or you don’t. And I’m not judging either: I used to when I was your age but time has passed and I realise that it is a personal choice.

PI don’t believe this is a moral issue rather than a risk one. Reservation is a flawed policy. Why does somebody need it after 80 years of independence apart from vote bank politics. In UP the most dominant castes are OBCs you can not win an election without them – why do they need reservation? If you think this is too much of a risk then that’s something you should evaluate. You also seem immature.
