        Hi
A guy reached out to a relative of mine with a marriage proposal. He posed as a high ranking government official.

Initially he would take small money, but will always return it. The reason he would give is that government freezes the bank accounts during elections so he can’t use his own money.

Later on, he took a lot of money like this- from accounts, spends on credit cards, and the a personal loan also. After this he has fled the city. After reaching out to his family and friends, it turned out that he was lying about everything.

My relative is still paying EMIs of the loan. He has agreed on whatsapp chat that he owes her money. He keeps on saying he will return, but hasn’t returned a single penny. We have witnesses neighbors who can give statements about him lying as a government officer.

On top of all this, he is blackmailing her also about leaking photos, and photoshopping as well. We believe this is not his first time doing this kind of activity.

We are already in touch with the police. They also summoned him but he never came to the police station.
        1. What else can we do?
        2. Should we file a civil case also? If yes, are there any lawyers in Hyderabad who can take this up on pro-bono/ nominal fee because she is already in a lot of debt.

We have his photos, contact numbers, aadhar, pan, account details etc.
