May 4, 2025 at 8:52 pmRecently had an experience with Porter that left me feeling overcharged and unsure of the proper refund process. Here’s what happened:Initial Booking: I booked a mini truck through the Porter app. The driver was en route and mentioned he had to pay a toll of โน150.
Trip to Incorrect Location: We loaded my belongings and traveled to the destination I had entered, only to realize it was incorrect. The driver ended the trip there.
New Destination: About 10 minutes later, I provided the correct address, which was less than 1 km away. Instead of allowing me to book a new trip through the app, the driver manually entered the new destination into his app and quoted a fare of โน320. He asked if I was okay with this, and I felt compelled to agree since my belongings were already in his truck.
Additional Charges: He also mentioned an extra โน150 charge for the 10-minute delay.
In total, I paid:
โน668 for the original trip
โน150 for the toll
โน150 for the delay
โน320 for the manually entered second trip
Total: โน1,288
I feel that the toll and delay charges should have been included in the app’s fare calculation, and the manual entry of the second trip bypassed Porter’s standard procedures.
Has anyone else experienced something similar with Porter? Were you able to get a refund for such charges? Any advice on how to approach their customer support effectively?
Thanks in advance for your help!
