Hi, I need urgent advice on how to handle a tricky situation. My senior citizen mother’s funds have been practically emptied by her oldest kid. He had been managing her account and we recently took over her accounts to only discover all funds have been emptied. A big chunk just couple days ago from post office. Is there any way for us to stop this transaction (a check deposit) or reverse it?

What options do we have?

Short of filing a criminal complaint it’s difficult to see how anything can be done.

I live in US, here if a transaction is pending, and unwanted, we can put a hold on that and stop on the heels before it goes thru. Is anything like that possible in India? Can we put a hold on the account?

It is a hazy area. Best to call/contact the bank as soon as possible and see if you can.
