May 4, 2025 at 10:30 amMy colleagues and I are a group of freelancers who were hired by an agency for multiple projects. It’s been over two years, and the CEO has not paid us for our work. Despite repeated follow-ups, he keeps saying he’ll pay “soon,” but that day has never come.We recently hired a lawyer and sent him a legal notice, but there’s been no real progress. We’re wondering:
1. Is a legal notice enough, or do we need to file a lawsuit?2. We’ve heard lawsuits can be expensive—are there any lower-cost alternatives or support options for freelancers?
3. Out of frustration, we posted on social media to warn others about him. He responded by threatening to sue us for defamation unless we took the post down.
We’re unsure how to proceed and would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions from those with legal knowledge or similar experiences.
Thanks in advance.
