March 24, 2025 at 7:38 amIwe are 2 siblings only me(F) and my sister. For context my sister is mentally not smart undiagnosed autistic maybe not sure but all n all not strong mentally. Her husband is farmer in UP he has been harrassing me and my mother who is very sick 68 years old lady. My sister usually does what he says this time she came at our place usually and said that he is asking again for property ( we have 1 house) where we are living he wants that we should get it transfer in name of my sister and me though my family thinks he will harass after this even more so. Currently it’s under my mother name we don’t want to get it transferred hence we lied to my sister and told her just say that it’s already now in my name. Now he is asking my sister to have no relations with us either or come back we are scared if he’ll do something to her once she’ll go back to him. She doesn’t want divorce him also. What’s the best recourse we have here? Please if any one can help here. We are very stressed. -

March 24, 2025 at 7:42 amTotally depends on what she wants ! There are laws which can help her but she would need to take some hard decisions, as u said she is not so much mentally strong so it can be tough !-

March 24, 2025 at 7:46 amUnderstood basically her husband is asking either property else most probably he will ask for divorce should we go ahead with it will she get any monthly allowance or let’s say alimony because else she’ll be totally dependent on me and I’ve just started working I don’t have a good salary I’m the only one who is earning-

March 24, 2025 at 8:19 amOk but I guess it will be a time taking process where we also have to invest in terms of lawyer fees and everything.

March 24, 2025 at 7:59 amAssuming he is farmer from Up : getting the alimony is a time taking process and you would be needing a good lawyer and its a time taking processMost of the cases get disposed initially because they do compromises at their level. ( its my experience only)
I can say just save the property first as he cant directly demand it and if he harasses her again then you can take help from the police or something
Because divorce ke baad ki life bhi easy to nahi hi hai

March 24, 2025 at 3:23 pmHe is a farmer. Farmers don’t get salary slips. It’ll be an uphill battle for alimony/maintenance.-
