March 23, 2025 at 3:13 pmHi Everyone,Need your advice on the subject.
My sister had some pain in her jaw and teeth and went to visit a hospital nearby. The dentist took history and asked to do X-ray.
Next day, upon looking she told that cleaning needs to be done. (We thought she’s talking about scaling)In middle of the procedure, my BIL asked so she said she’s performing RCT (Root Canal Treatment)
She’s didn’t made us aware of the any procedure or costing prior to that.
My sister lives in Germany and came India for some days. We informed the dentist that she has to fly back in a week.
Probably she took advantage of the situation and directly stared the procedure.
During the procedure, my sister had immense pain for the next two days. We asked to give more anaesthesia but she said she already gave the maximum permissible.
She asked us to to CT scan for two tooth RCT.
We suspected foul play but continued as we didn’t have time.
Even after the procedure’s completion, my sister had pain.
We took a second opinion and through x-ray came to know that the RCT was incomplete.
The dentist filled the tooth without cleaning all the way. We were shocked. The doctor suggested Re-RCT or the tooth removal if it decays in sometime.
He also informed that CT scan is never required for mere RCT.
We took the decision and did the RCT again.
This time, she had little to no pain. Now, she’s flown back to Germany and I need to handle the previous dentist.
I went to the hospital and made a direct complaint to the director.
He said that he’ll return the Procedure amount but not the CT scan.
What further steps can I take against the Doctor and Hospital Management?
All advice are welcome.
