This issue is related to my father. Here’s the background:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my mother left us. After that, my family members pressured my father into a second marriage. Eventually, he married a divorced woman who already had a daughter.
I live in Bangalore, while my father resides in our hometown in Uttar Pradesh. Over time, I have heard that my father and his second wife frequently argue. Additionally, during my wedding last year, she misbehaved with us. At that time, many people suggested that my father should divorce her. However, she made several demands, including my late mother’s ornaments, ownership of our house, and alimony. Since she had no legal basis for these claims, she eventually dropped the matter and moved on.
Now, coming to the present issue:
Yesterday, I discovered from Google activity logs that my stepsister had been searching for inappropriate content online. She seemed to realize that she could get into trouble for it. Today, she suddenly made a shocking allegation, claiming that my father had inappropriately touched her in her mother’s absence.
Given the seriousness of the accusation, I immediately called my father to come to Bangalore.
My Questions:
1. How should we handle this situation legally?
2. How do we approach a lawyer for guidance and defense?
3. What legal protections or steps can my father take in such a case?I am really worried about my father and need urgent advice on how to proceed.
