UHello,
Need help with this case on what can I do to safeguard myself legally.
I had purchased a bike in 2009 (registered to pune rto). I moved to Mumbai and eventually ended up giving the bike to my friend in 2015 (without doing any transfer formalities or any sale deed).
My friend who had my bike (rc still in my name) moved to noida and we lost touch. We got in touch again and I came to know that he has passed on the bike to his society’s watchman in 2022(without informing me or taking my permission) and given him the rc card. I told him that he should trace that guy and the get the bike back as it’s still in my name.
He was able to contact the watchman and from he came to know that the watchman sold it to someone in his colony who was a tenant and that guy moved out. So now he has no clue where the bike is.
Is there any way I can legally safeguard myself against misuse of the bike. Pls help.
Also, the registration of the bike has expired in 2024.
