Passport submission for Visa

Hello all,

I have to submit my passport for h1b stamping to US embassy. My old passport was expiring in coming months and hence I got a new passport which is issued under tatkal quota. The police verification is still under process (submitted all documents and visited police station for verification as well) for new passport, so my question is can I submit the passport to the embassy or should I wait for passport verification completion? Police verification takes 21 days approximately as said by officer.

You can submit the new passport. A tatkal passport is valid for use immediately after issue.

You can submit the passport for visa as visa is more important police verification can be done easily
