March 15, 2025 at 7:20 amI’m a writer, and last year, I signed with a publisher for 2 books. The first book is already out in the market, under that publisher’s name. But I realise, I don’t wish to publish the 2nd book with them, and I even want the book that is already published, to be taken off the market, so I can re-publish it with someone else. But I have signed a contract with them, where the intellectual rights are with me, but the publishing rights have been granted to them. But there is also a loophole in the contract, according to Chatgpt. Could anyone kindly help me in reviewing the contract, and guide if there is any ground for termination? There is a termination clause and reversion of rights clause, but I am not sure if the grounds are met as I’m not versed in legal speak.
Any help would be appreciated! Need it urgently.
