        Hi,

An elderly man is having an affair with a much younger woman who has clearly gained his trust and extorting money from him. ( is this called honey trap? What is the legal way of addressing this scenario?)

I’m scared that the man would give all the family’s savings away.
How do I protect the elderly man and the families assets which are on his name ?

Have evidence of money transfers. Not sure if she has anything incriminating against him. Through text exchange, It looks like he has fallen for her and willingly sending money.

Is lawyering up the only best way for the family to safeguard their assets ? If so , what kind of lawyer should we reach out to?

        TIA

He’s my father. And he’s cheating on my mother and giving away family’s savings to some lady who is clearly extorting him. So no , I don’t want to mind my own business.

Ok. But other than convincing him, it’s his money

We don’t care if he’s giving away his money. He is also giving away family’s savings. And we don’t trust him to have our hard earned property on his name anymore. Hence the post asking for advice.

Details are sparse. If he owns it, it’s his choice.

Don’t keep family savings and purchased property in the name of elderly people.

It’s called Sugar Dating. And there is nothing wrong with it legally.

Doesn’t matter if it’s your dad or a stranger, each adult is his own person. At the end of the day, law only sees the person as an individual and not as someone’s dad or husband. If the properties are transferred to a different person’s name of his own accord, then there’s literally nothing you or anyone on this planet can do. The only solution is to try and talk some sense into him and pray to God he listens to you.
