May 2, 2025 at 5:13 pmSo for context, I joined B. U. M. S. course in medical gov college in Mumbai after appearing for NEET exam for the third time in 2022. In medical colleges, they make us submit our original documents and return it back after the degree is completed. The documents include 10th 12th marksheets and such.
Now after entering the college, we got to know that the college doesn’t provide with proper teaching. There are no proper practicals held, no proper infrastructure, no cadaver (dead body) to practice on, not good inflow of patients (except in opd). It’s all theory and tbh the teachers aren’t much interested in teaching so we have to do everything by ourselves (scenario of every other college out there). Now I shared about the condition of the college with my family and they told me to dropout and appear for neet exam again as such degree is of no use. But when we went to take back our documents, the principal told us we would need to pay the penalty fees to get our documents back. The penalty fees for AYUSH courses is 3 lakhs and for mbbs or bds is 10 lakhs if it’s a government college. It’s written in the brochure. But the college now demanding 4.5 lakhs saying 3 lakhs is for the penalty and 1.5 lakhs is the fees for the whole course (3 proff years duration is 5.5 yrs). Can something be done to get the documents back? I want to take up some other course, last yr I appeared for neet but due to cut off inflation I didn’t get a good rank. I decided to take up some other course now, but would be better if I won’t have to pay the penalty for such a shitty college.
Pls can someone help?
