March 8, 2025 at 7:14 pmMy sister has been receiving messages via sms claiming that she has to appear before the District Court of Ghaziabad in Lok Adalat on 8-Mar-25 for the resolution of an Indiabulls ARC loan outstanding of Rs. 1415. The message also provides contact numbers to call a manager for support which is not reachable. Here’s the backstory:
* She had applied for a credit card from Yes Bank but never actually received the card.
* Despite not using it, Yes Bank started charging her fees.
* After months of constant calls from Yes Bank demanding payment, she eventually gave in and paid Rs. 1300 something through UPI.
* Now, a month after making the payment, she’s suddenly receiving these legal threat messages and calls from Indiabulls. We are extremely confused about how Yes Bank’s charges turned into an Indiabulls ARC loan issue, especially since the payment was already made. Is this some sort of scam? Has anyone else experienced something similar? What should be our next steps?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!
