March 6, 2025 at 12:34 amThis is the dumbest logic ever, the scale of a malicious thing does not matter for the affected. We are talking about legal recourse not threat.

March 5, 2025 at 9:29 pmOP is this actually true? Aren’t they protected by the normal laws pertaining to rape? If so, this is horrible. A lot of men are raped in our country, not just women. I really want to know if all the laws on sexual assault are woman-centric-

March 6, 2025 at 1:38 amIn india, rape means you’re forcefully penetrated. If the rapist didn’t penetrate (how would she?), it wasn’t rape. Even male rapists know this and do other horrible things to their victims minus the penetration to not get convicted. There was such a case in Mohali Punjab ≈ 15yrs back where a gang of men was repeatedly doing that to a woman. They were never arrested and always warned her against complaining. I’m not hopeful that that woman survived.-

March 6, 2025 at 7:21 amYea, a redditor sent me the legal definition of rape. I really hope these laws are updated soon, cuz to be honest, india suddenly seems a lot more dangerous these 3-4 years and these situations will keep happening without criminals getting convinced just because they’re finding loopholes. But to be honest, right now, chances look bleak.-

March 6, 2025 at 3:10 amRead the definition of rape on page 34 and page 35 of [this](https://www.indiacode.nic.in/bitstream/123456789/20062/1/a2023-45.pdf). Legally speaking, a man can’t be raped.-

March 6, 2025 at 7:18 amMan, that excludes like several situations with even women, and completely forgets about men. Our laws definitely need a do over, because what the hell is this-

March 6, 2025 at 6:05 amIndia’s new criminal code (BNS 2023) fails male rape victimsThe law defines rape (Sec 63) strictly as male-on-female crime, leaving adult male victims with limited options:
Grievous Hurt (Sec 115) – 7yr max vs life term for female victims
Sexual Harassment (Sec 66) – 3yrs for non-penetrative acts
Constitutional Violations:
◼️ Art 14: Arbitrary gender bias in penal provisions
◼️ Art 21: Denies dignity protections to male victimsProcedural Dead Ends:
✖️ Zero-FIR unavailable (BNSS 173)
✖️ Digital evidence protocols locked (BSA 61)Law Commission Report 284 (2024) notes this gap but reforms remain pending.
Let us see, what happens next, changes will come but when and at what cost. Sigh 😔

March 6, 2025 at 6:08 amFake outrage. An 18 year old guy wouldn’t be easy to manhandle by a woman. This issue is overstated. I remember when we were in high school, and most guys preferred college women. The law would probably consider such a relationship as rape, while it would be a dream come true for most guys that age.

March 6, 2025 at 8:26 amNALif there were signs/proof of force, these sections would apply of the BNS
* **Section 115**: Voluntarily causing hurt
* **Section 354**: Criminal force and assaultIf the police dont file an FIR, you can always write a letter to the SP or write a complaint petition to the police
If there is evidence the accused groomed your son from a young age (when he was a minor), you can file a case under the POCSO as the act is gender neutral for both victims and offenders (a women can be booked for sexually assaulting a boy)
hope this helps,`there are many therapists/NGO’s that help with rehabilitating and giving councel to male victims of sexual assault

March 6, 2025 at 8:43 amI think it’s a known fact that there is no protection for males or male gender even transgenders under IPC or BNS for rape.
If there is no law then law must be taken in your own hands is my personal opinion. I cannot say that I have done so or not. But I don’t have a family or son so I cannot comment on the emotional state or predict the actions of such individuals.
But I can take another example. Suppose you are walking your dog, a female dog that you raised as a member of your family. She is friendly and non-aggressive as she lives with humans. Say that a stray dog who is vicious and territorial without provocation attempts to bite her while we are walking by sneaking up on her from behind. Technically there is no law against animals causing harm to other animals. Because they are animals. Which means if a stray dog comes and attacks you or your pet, tries to mount your pet and have unconsentual intercourse you cannot prevent it or do anything by law because animals are only protected from harm from humans and not other animals.
Question is, would you stand by because there is no law or kick and beat the shit out of the stray dog knowing full well that if someone complains against you for cruelty to animals it can be a big issue. The justification being that a companion dog is like a member of the family and a female at that so violence against her will be met with swift and harsh punishment without an iota of mercy irrespective of the species of the criminal and the mental capacity of the aggressor to interpret it’s actions as I am reacting as an animal would I will not think about consequences thereby equalizing the playing field for the aggressor animal. If it thinks it can charge and physically assault my dog or me, it’s life is at an end figuratively. As we increase the number of laws, the amount of corruption goes up. I’m all for gender neutral laws but in the society we live in, taking the law into your own hands has never been frowned up by society, only by the legal system. Even then they need to prove beyond doubt that the accused has done what he/she has done in case of harsher crimes.
One only needs to read the outcomes of rapes and gang rapes court cases and see how many of them are thrown out due to not having “stellar witnesses” or ample evidence despite knowing full well there is no other possibility. All court cases are public domain and available online.
Its not just a question of protection of men but if my son cannot defend himself in a situation then I will be forced to extract justice through punishment by other means. Myself if I am physically able or through solicited means.
Just because a guy in a black robe decides something should I consider justice done? Or is vengeance truly a form of justice since you were unable to prevent the crime in the first place.
I acknowledge the absence of protection of men and also agree laws should be gender neutral. But am I helpless because laws do not exist? I sincerely do not think so and never felt that way since I was born. Turning 40 this year. -
