I joined a Colive (PG brand) in Chennai back in August 2024 and gave a Rs. 14000 deposit.
On 31st Jan 2025 (Friday), the community manager called me up and told me the original owners of the apartments didn’t pay taxes and the officials were going to seal the place up that coming Tuesday (Feb 4th).
So the next day itself, although it was a huge hassle and I couldn’t find a place till 5th Feb I moved out and the community manager at that time promised to give the deposit back by 15th Feb.
This issue was not my fault and I have been raising tickets and calling continuously since 4th Feb to get them to at least promise a date that they would give the money back, but in no avail. I am stuck and now they are saying they have some technical issues and are not responding back. I have exhausted all things I can do individually and I require advice and assistance on how to proceed legally through consumer court or otherwise.
