February 27, 2025 at 5:54 pmI am from a small town in West Bengal. In my locality, there is a guy who drinks and plays loud music till midnight. We have protested many times, but after each protest, he stops for a week and then starts again. I have told my parents to call the police, but they won’t let me because they are our neighbors, and we used to be on good terms with their family. (This thing is happening from last 7-8 years)This guy is around 33-34 years old, has already been married three times, and divorced twice. For the last two years, he has been gathering his drunk friends at his house—10 to 12 of them—playing loud music and shouting abuses. Most of them are associated with the TMC party. Two weeks ago, I, my uncle, and my father protested again, and this guy, along with his drunk friends and his father (who also drinks with his son), attacked us.
Additionally, his cousin brother, who is a goon and whose father is very close to the local TMC councilor, started abusing us. Even after our protest, they gathered a lot of friends the next day. Both times, the councilor came but didn’t say a word to those people.
Last night, around 3 AM, this goon started abusing me, my father, and my uncle again. What can we do? We can’t call the police because when we complain, the police contact the local councilor first, and this guy ensures they don’t take any action. My locality is becoming worse every day, and we are feeling helpless. What can we do now? Please guide us.
P.S- I have a lot of video evidence of their abuses and mid night loud music as well.
