UThere is a worker at our shop who is a simple and calm man. He is married with two or three children, and his family resides in Uttar Pradesh. While living in Pune, he got involved in a romantic relationship with a woman who is not divorced. By the time he realized the gravity of the situation, it was already too late she had begun pressuring him to marry her. Overwhelmed by the burden, he decided to flee.
In response, the woman filed an FIR, accusing him of falsely promising to marry her. As a result, my father has been repeatedly summoned to the police station, despite having no prior knowledge of the matter. When he eventually found out, he advised the worker to avoid such situations, reminding him of his responsibilities toward his dependent family and urging him to focus on his work. However, the worker did not heed his advice.
Now, when my father visits the police station, he is being told that the worker has only two choices either marry the woman or face 14 years in prison. This seems highly unreasonable to me. I am seeking legal advice on this matter, and if anyone based in Pune is willing to help, I would greatly appreciate it.
