Importing and Distributing Foreign Brand Goods in India – Legal aspects to consider?

I am setting up a business to import goods of certain foreign brands from countries such as Thailand, Australia, Mexico. My intention with each of these brands is to become their distributor for India.

My questions are-
1. What are the things I need to keep in mind when importing these goods?
2. What procedures do i need to cover to make sure that I am selling these products legally? (pricing, warranty etc)
3. What would be the best way to transfer money to purchase these products?
