Hi, I need a legal heir certificate in Mumbai as my father recently passed away, and we need to transfer his properties. Our family consists of my mother, my minor brother, and me.
When I researched online, I found that the Tehsildar issues this certificate. However, when I visited the Tehsildar’s office, they directed me to the Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra. Upon visiting the Seva Kendra, I was informed that only government employees can obtain the certificate there. What to do now?

Anyone can get a legal heir certificate.

Apply via someone who is familiar with the process.
