Advice Needed: Changing Spouse’s Name Again After Initial Gazette Notification (India)

Hello r/legaladviceindia,

I’m seeking some advice on a name change issue for my spouse. We recently went through the process of changing my spouse’s name in the Gazette of India after our marriage. However, we now want to modify the name change, let’s say her Original Name is ABC, we changed it to PQR NewSurname.

Specifically, we want to revert her first name to her original first name and only keep her husband’s last name. So, we want to change PQR to ABC NewSurname.

My question is, if we submit a new gazette request for this change, will it conflict with the existing gazette notification that has already been approved? Also, when filling out the new gazette application, what should we put as her “existing name”? Should it be her original name or the name that was approved in the first gazette notification?
