February 10, 2025 at 10:27 amMy dad was born in Sion, Mumbai, India, way back in 1953, Sion hospital, but they didnβt issue him or register him a birth certificate??He called the hospital for one some years ago and they said they canβt find it or trace it. He got a notarized slip or letter saying itβs untraceable.
Apart from that he does has a valid passport// marriage certificate // baptism (Christian) certificate and lot of information to tie him to Mumbai and his parents.
My question is, can he make one again? If there is no trace // loss of certificate. There has to be a way of rectifying this yeah ?

February 10, 2025 at 10:54 amSubmit a request to the respective ward officer along with an affidavit and available documents. If the office fails to respond, you may file a petition in Mumbai Civil court to direct the ward office to issue the birth certificate. Do check with a lawyer.
