February 10, 2025 at 8:12 amSo some random guy somehow got my friend’s number and is harassing her trying to ask her out. She’s blocked his number by he’s called her with other numbers as well(those numbers were also blocked). Can anyone suggest any solution to this? Can she take this matter to the police and will they even do anything about this? -

February 10, 2025 at 8:16 amThat’s my suggestion too but will the police even take any action? And I’m worried about him escalating the situation, like what if he leaks her number to the public or gets some other people to harass her-

February 10, 2025 at 8:19 amLooks like a guy who would do this to several other people as well so a legal complaint is a good option. If your friend is not willing to go that far then ask her to change her number. There is no 3rd option.-

February 10, 2025 at 8:24 amThe cops will take care of it. Whether it’s your friend or gf, you don’t have to be scared so much. The only reason these guys do this is because of the fact that people are afraid to go to the station. Once you overcome that part, he will learn his lesson and you would be doing a favour to a lot more people than you know, so pls do it without any fear.-

OP
February 10, 2025 at 8:27 amI don’t have a fear of going to the police, my worry is if the police will even take action. I’ve told my friend to collect all evidence possible but I’m worried the police will just brush it aside. We will go to the police though, just wanted some advice with regards to him maybe leaking her number or escalating some other way-

February 10, 2025 at 8:31 amMake sure they lodge an FIR and get the FIR copy, that is a way to make sure that they will act upon it and you have all the rights to follow up on the proceedings. Write the complaint beforehand prior to going to the station. Don’t worry about the escalation. The complaint itself is a documented proof that for anything else happening to your friend, he is responsible for it.-

February 10, 2025 at 8:21 amAuthorities act only on evidence. Collect evidence. If he calls, record the phone calls. You have to get the evidence that he is calling and speaking to her without her permission. He is harassing her with multiple calls. Click photos of all the phone numbers he is calling from.Go to any police station and file a preliminary FIR. After that, what the police do is their problem. There are enough problems and issues in India.

February 10, 2025 at 12:06 pmSensible advice – Have your friend file a harassment complaint with the cyber cell/ local police commissioner’s website (depending on the state). Clearly list out all the numbers from which you’ve been getting these calls.Nuclear advice – Register those numbers on India bulls, Bajaj finance & all major banking websites for a load inquiry.
2. Register them on property websites.
3. List them under escort services
