February 6, 2025 at 5:05 pmI met with an accident one month back. I was on my bike and was riding at 35-40. I was going back to office after lunch. I slowed down before a speed breaker near the office building and a car hit me from behind. Most probably the driver was using his phone as he was getting continuous calls later on.
The car guy got down and was trying to pay me off for the damage caused but my bike was badly damaged and I was not able to move my arm (had an elbow fracture). He was not at all apologetic! This is what I did next:
I called my BIL and we went to police station to write a complaint. The car guy left the scene earlier but when we got to the police station, he was waiting there. I talked to the SI and wrote a complaint against him. To my surprise, he also wrote an application against me (which is fair since we live in a democracy). The guy then tried to pay the police off but I was not leaving them alone. The police guy then told me that if I complaint against him, his future will be damaged. So the SI told him to pay all the hospital expenses and the overhead expenses after bike’s insurance claim. The car guy gave this in written and I have a photo of it.Now, I have paid all the bills and sent him everything. Total amount was around 20k (incld medical and bike’s overhead). He didn’t pay me yet. I wanted help regarding the next steps if he refuses to pay.
I had a fracture in my elbow, couldn’t go to office for a month. Now suffering from a lot pain as am still not able to move my hand completely.
