April 28, 2025 at 6:58 pmHi everyone,
Iβd appreciate some advice. Hereβs the situation:
β’ I paid a token amount for an apartment in Gurgaon
β’ At the time of payment, there was no mention of any 6-month lock-in period.
β’ Just 2 days before possession, when I went to meet the landlord in person, he introduced the 6-month lock-in condition for the first time.
β’ I refused to accept the new condition, as it was never discussed before.
β’ After that, the landlord told me he no longer wanted to rent the apartment to me.
β’ No formal rental agreement was ever signed.Itβs been almost a month now, and despite multiple follow-ups, the token amount has not been refunded.
Given that:
β’ The terms were changed after payment,
β’ No agreement was signed,
β’ The landlord himself backed out,Do I have legal grounds to demand a full refund of the token amount?
Also, realistically, how practical is it to pursue this legally (in terms of time, cost, and feasibility)?Would appreciate any advice or if anyone has faced something similar.
Thanks in advance!
