February 2, 2025 at 2:18 amWow this maybe the 1st time i am reading about someone getting fined for public smoking. I know people aren’t allowed but no one follows it anyway. So the police don’t bother either (atleast where i live) Glad to see bangalore police doing it -

February 3, 2025 at 2:25 pmS92 IPC for public smoking, unless you are a minor, would not be applicable. It is not solely relevant to public smoking.Do read the challan properly to understand the other relevant sections.

March 17, 2025 at 7:04 amHi – apologies to barge in! I happened to experience the same yesterday! the police were good didnโt say much and gave me some challan and told me to not smoke again in public places. But today I got a call from someone asking me to either come to police station or go to court to pay money, and constantly asked me I didnโt pay yesterday and I told her I already sorted it out yesterday and I said I have work so canโt come right now she asked where do I work and what kind of work do I do and all and I asked why was she asking me so many questions she spoke to someone over and then replied to me saying โjust asking madam, are you coming to police station or courtโ I said I will come, what should I do? should I go to police station to pay 300?

May 9, 2025 at 7:52 amHey I was given a challan yesterday for public smoking and I did not go to the police or court . Should I go? What’s the procedure looks like if I go? I don’t have a problem paying the fine and everything but what if they escalate it because from what I understood they charged me this after asking me whether I am kannad or not ( i am not kannad )
