So yesterday we had an accident in Jaipur ( i am
From Haryana) our signal was green but my friend accelerated a little bit because there was no timer there just after we crossed the zebra crossing ( it was still green ) a scooty crashed our bonnet he jumped the red light but we all panicked ( we all are 19-20 ) we thought of running from
That place we fled but later we were caught by police we took that person to hospital and gave money to policemen there as they were demanding but he wrote our car no drivers name and mobile
No on a page but after we gave him
Some money he gave it to the victims family that person is okay but there family is threating us that they can still take legal action we need to send them Money …. We don’t have any money left what should we do

They jumped the signal which in itself is a crime, so if possible to prove that you are right get a polygraph test of you guys stating the facts. This can be used as evidence, if you have proof that you are not on the wrong then I guess you are safe unless they have influence

Also why should you pay more money, some out of goodwill it’s manageable but not more. They took the risk let them repent

Give it a try, if not possible you can’t do anything. If they file a case & it goes to court, I guess you and whoever were with you can testify there, and I assume you will outnumber the opposite party?

Yes we out number them they also don’t have any proof that we were guilty … the only thing they can tell is they had an accident but can’t prove us guilty

If the person driving the car has a license then you can just tell that who crashed into your bonnet jumped the signal it’s their mistake. Why should you compensate other than small amount as goodwill? You aren’t even at fault here buddy

They can’t take any, they are at fault right? So technically they would be putting themselves in a bad situation, you chill out, speak to a known lawyer & good lawyer about this

Let me tell you what they have…. they a paper that has drivers name and number with cars no and scooty no and Scott drivers name … police handed that paper to them after we gave them some money ( bribed police )
