January 30, 2025 at 12:41 pmBackground: Father has SC certificate issued from WB (as does all my relatives and cousins on father side). Father is in central govt job so had migrated to Noida (UP) more than 2 decades ago.So on the SC/ST website it says children of migrants will get certificate issued from the state to which they migrate to (UP in my case), after verification of fathers certificate. So by a lot of hassle and many verifications I had a certificate made in 2015 (after 2yrs of trying and applying for RTI) but it isn’t digital. So I recently had cleared a govt job (SBI) but couldn’t join because they wouldn’t accept certificate and asked for a central SC certificate, even though my certificate was made according to the RTI format which is also available on the SC/ST website. I went to Tehsil office and even Jan Seva Kendra, but they keep denying to digitalise it because my caste (from WB) doesn’t show on the servers (UP).
All my documents, school certificates, voter id, pan, adhaar all is of UP since have been living here since childhood. West Bengal said they can’t issue from there stating the guidelines from SC/ST website, but can verify my father’s certificate if required.
I know the current certificate I have is valid because I have done my UG/PG (Central University- IIT) both using it, but now having trouble for job. I already couldn’t join SBI, what should I do?
