January 29, 2025 at 12:40 pmI am currently building a startup focused on an online marketplace that will operate internationally. I plan to incorporate the company in Singapore, and at this stage, I am managing the project as a one-man operation.Given the international scope of the platform, I understand that global legal compliance and global tax compliance are needed. The nature of goods and services sold through the platform will be digital. I wanted some clarity on the legal structuring of my operations, particularly regarding:
* Legal Representation: Will my company need to engage a law firm based in Singapore to handle global compliance and tax compliance, or Can an in-house or freelance legal counsel, leveraging tools like Juro, OneTrust, Securiti, and Avalara, efficiently manage these requirements?
* Cost & Time Considerations: What are the estimated costs and timelines associated with each approach: Engaging a law firm for end-to-end compliance v/s Hiring in-house/freelance legal counsel who utilizes legal automation tools
I would appreciate insights on my doubts and including any best practices or recommendations. -

2. Timeline varies as per nature of work.
