January 28, 2025 at 12:14 pmHi everyone,I’m writing this from Dubai Airport, and I’m honestly exhausted and frustrated. Here’s what’s going on:
* My SpiceJet flight was **originally scheduled for 11:30 PM 27th Jan**, but it was **delayed to 1:30 AM**.
* We went through immigration, boarded the flight, and then—out of nowhere—they called us all back because the **crew wasn’t available**.
* It’s now **12:30 PM**, and we’ve been waiting for over 14 hours with no proper updates. They’re now saying the flight might leave at **5 PM**, but honestly, I have no confidence in that at this point. The worst part? **There’s no SpiceJet team around to help us**. Nobody is giving us clear answers or even basic support.
On top of all this, I’m on a **single-entry visa**. Since I’ve already gone through immigration and effectively exited Dubai, I can’t go back into the city without risking visa issues. I feel completely stuck and abandoned.
# Can I take legal action against SpiceJet?
Does anyone know what my rights are here? I’ve heard about passenger protections for delays, but I’m not sure what applies in Dubai or for a flight heading back to India.
If you’ve been through something like this or have advice on how to escalate the issue—whether it’s with SpiceJet or the aviation authorities—please let me know.
Thanks for reading and for any help you can offer.

January 28, 2025 at 4:08 pmAir Sewa has citizen charter. You can go through it and get appropriate compensation by escalating within spicejet. If the nodal head does not respond favourably, you cna approach air sewa ombudsman. At that point, they will comply to whatever the charter guarantees. If you have any losses beyond that which you wish to claim, it would be difficult. Main argument in that case will be based on that SpiceJet was not present at the airport to tell you about your rights and provide food and accommodation.-
