Need advice regarding Legal Heir Certificate in Mumbai.

Hi Guys, I stay in Delhi and I am currently in need of a Legal Heir Certificate in Mumbai because my family resided there, I do NOT need a succession certificate.

The reason I mention this is because a lot of lawyers I spoke to either don’t know what I meant, or are purposely confusing me to charge me higher.

They mentioned that the cost will be around 1-2 Lakhs, but last I checked, this fees was for Succession Certificate, Legal Heir Certificates are supposed to cost a lot less than this.

Can anyone, who has the right information, or has gone through this process more specifically in Mumbai, simplify the process for me below?

Also, can I get it done without a lawyer?
