January 23, 2025 at 4:47 pmMy Father was hit by an Overspeeding Car on 15/01/25.
Car was driven by School Student, he first hit my father fand then he lost control of the SUV and hit the Electric pole .He was beaten by the locals and was taken to Police station ( Later on he was Released ) The Car and my father Bike is lying at the Police Station
My Father sustained injury on his Right leg and a big Cut on his Head ( Stitches Done) .No major Risk from his head wounds as shown from CT Scan, But he underwent Surgery and got Titanium Rod installed in his Leg.
On 18th Jan I filed an Application for FIR .
On 19th Jan got FIR no.
Police Inspector asked for DL and Bike RC..
I said I’ll give him after my Father get’s discharge from Hospital.On 22th Jan- Father got discharged.
On 23rd Jan – police Called again and was telling to Bring original DL and RC and other Docs Such as Discharge Certificate.
My Question is it Safe to Submit original DL and RC??
2nd – What’s the next Course of Action ??
How will the Case go? -

January 26, 2025 at 1:24 pmNAL.Yes, it is common for police to ask original RC and license to verify the ownership of bike.
Next step is police arranges for brake test where the RTO determines if your both vehicles were functioning properly at the time of accident. Donβt worry, it is more of a formality nowadays. Then they will release the vehicles and hand over the license and RC book. You can proceed to fix your bike by claiming insurance.
Then you hire a good lawyer and fight the case. Or, settle it with the offender (faster option).
