My group of friends recently got together to form a volunteering team to act like a local NGO or similar organization. Our aim is to spread public awareness. We want to register it legally, but online research shows that we can only register it as an NGO or a society, which requires specific rules, such as maintaining a certain bank balance. However, we are just a small group starting out and are looking for options other than registering with the local clubs in our town.

Does anyone know of any other options for registering a small volunteer community?
