tomorrow I am going for a home registration transfer (the transfer will be from my mother to my sister),
now my mother had bought the house from a previous buyer who didn’t have a registry done on the house so he gave my mother the POA and my mother then did the registration in the registrar’s office (I verified the registration of the house, the house registration details is available in govt website ).
Now when I checked the documents, I found that we don’t have the original POA document and the will document but only have the photocopies of both, so I contacted a lawyer who said we can get the certified copies of the originals, but he is charging me 3500 for both
and also for registration transfer, he is charging 10000 rs.
The house is worth Rs 9.12,000 . the stamp duty fee is approx 55000
So my total cost comes out to be nearly 70,000 for the registration transfer so that our buyer can buy the house as he willl take a loan for the house.
Is this cost correct ? or can i negotiate with him as I think he is charging me way too much for the certified copies.
