UWhat are the consequences of a car hitting a stray dog in India?
A car has hit a stray dog in my society. The car was of a relative of a resident of the society. The dog is alive. The incident is captured in the society CCTV in such a way that dog is not visible but it shows 2-3 people gathering around in that moment.
A dog lover and feeder who also is a part of a animal welfare group/ngo for dogs has reached out to the NGO and has sent the society notice to share CCTV recordings.
How does the incident look from the society residents POV given that it was not his car and the dog was a stray dog.
The NGO person is trying to threaten saying the dog is in a bad state and they are only going to do this the legal way. The resident out of compassion is fine to make a small contribution to the dogs treatment or the NGO but the NGO person stays adamant on the legal route. Also his tone suggests that there are fat bills in the name of dog surgery and other things.
What can the resident do in such a situation?
