MHi everyone,
I’m facing an issue with Jio regarding my security deposit refund, and I’m looking for advice on how to proceed. Here’s the full story:
I recently converted my Jio POSTPAID connection to PREPAID. At the time of conversion, my security deposit was ₹1,000 (₹500 when I initially got the postpaid connection and another ₹500 when I upgraded to a family plan). Before switching, I cleared all outstanding dues (around ₹300-₹350), as the app doesn’t allow a postpaid-to-prepaid conversion unless all dues are cleared.
After the conversion, I followed the instructions provided by Jio’s executive to update my bank details on their refund portal to get my security deposit refunded. I also received an email confirmation stating that my bank details were successfully updated and that the refund would be processed within 10 days.
However, I still haven’t received the refund. When I contacted their customer support, they claimed my bank details were not updated, which directly contradicts the email confirmation I received. Now, I can’t update my bank details again, as the portal shows that the details are already updated.
Today the appellate authority straight up refused to pay anything.
Additional points to note:
1. I cleared all dues on the date of conversion, so there’s no possibility of the security deposit being adjusted for any outstanding payments.
2. None of the tickets or escalations I raised have resulted in proper communication. I haven’t received any updates via email or phone, leaving me completely in the dark about the status of my refund.Jio has now refused to provide the refund. I feel stuck and don’t know what to do next.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? What steps can I take to resolve this? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
